the winner of the 2005-2006 award was Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies the winner of the 1999-2000 award was Rodney Rogers of the Phoenix Suns.

I'm inclined to agree that nationality gets too much attention here. It's divisive, but at least there's no column for race of ethnicity.

Is there a recent trend in which award winners don't return to the same teams the following season? I can't think of a reason for that, except for chance. However, perhaps there's a deeper reason.
